Sunday afternoon my friend, Tobey, and I made "living wreaths" at Crazy Daisies!
We began the afternoon with cocktail - I had a Strawberrry Basil!
Their Mimosa Flights are also delish!
The drinks are not only tasty, but also so pretty:
It was a gorgeous day in Central NY, so we sat on the porch, waiting for the class to begin:
We went into the greenhouse to make out living wreaths - there were about 20 of us and we were given a choice between a "sunshine or shade wreath"
Tobey and I chose "sunshine" and after packing the frame with soil...
...we put a backing on the wreath and flipped it over, filing the holes on the top and side with pansies:
We brought home the wreaths and soaked them very well with water....
...and they will be kept inside at night for a few weeks, until all chance of a frost has passed!
It was so good to see all of the pretty blooms in the greenhouses.
And I also purchased Eucalyptus and Basil:
This variety of Basil is called "Pesto Basil" and the leaves are such a pretty color of light green:
So, "Cheers" to my wreath living thru the summer ....
.... check back in another 6 weeks to see the progress!
A fun afternoon
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh Patti what a fun project and that drink looked so pretty and delish. Gosh I wish I lived closer I would have joined you. I cannot wait to see your wreath in the weeks to come. Have a great week. Hugs. Kris
