Welcome to the Spring Tablescape Hop - Please visit the fabulous tablescapers at the bottom of this post for more inspiration!
I thought it would be fun to challenge myself in the Dollar Tree and purchase items to set a dessert station for Spring:
I set up the dining room buffet for a little dessert luncheon for my friend's daughters.....
....with pink plates and lots of treats....
....chocolate candy bars, mini lemon cupckaes, mini strawberry bundt cakes, Peeps.....
....a few faux flowers in a vase gifted to me by MacKenzie-Childs....
....pink lemonade and bunny hats...
....my Nana's depression glasses with bunny ears straws....
....cute bunny bags filled with napkins and plastic flatware ...
...and jelly beans!!
It was fun to mix all of the inexpensive disposables with a few of my special MacKenzie-Childs ceramics...
...these pieces are painted in such pretty spring colors!
I'll be buying a few more of these "bunny bags" to fill with treats for my grandsons!
I am looking forward to spring and warmer weather!
And setting this buffet table certainly gave me "Spring Fever"!
Wishing you a Happy Spring!
As pictured on my buffet, this is a handcrafted ceramic, small Taylor Odd Fellows vase, perfect for a petite presentation of posies.

ReplyDeleteDessert stations are such fun and you have done a great job. Can't believe you found everything from your local Dollar store. I especially liked the glasses and straws. the plates with their scalloped edges are very sweet and emphasize the pink in the other accessories. Sweet treats are perfect in this setting.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun Patti! Your dessert station is Adorable! A buffet of Spring eye candy and sweet treats! All the goodies you found at the Dollar store mix so well with your MKC pretties! Brilliant, Patti! It's so much fun to mix high end with low end, and your styling proves it's certainly is anything BUT low-end. Well done! Your friend's kids (and your grandsons) will love all these details. Happy Spring!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute, Patti. I think it's great that you can mix Dollar Tree goodies with MacKenzie-Childs. Too cute! Everything looks pretty. I love the giant pitcher. I regret not getting that piece! I know the little girls enjoyed themselves. This is a darling idea. Our Dollar Tree is no more, BUT we have a Five Below. I need to go in there and see what they have for spring! Happy Spring!!!
ReplyDeletePatti, oh my gosh - you are so creative! How great are your dollar tree finds mixed with your beautiful M-C pieces and depression glass ware to create the perfect buffet. I love it that you spent only $12.50 for it! I'm sure that your friend's daughters and your grands were absolutely thrilled with your dessert bar - I know I would be. Happy spring to you!
ReplyDeleteEvery detail makes this very inviting. I saw Deb post that same bunny bag. It's so cute. Our $ store didn't have them. They will be fun for the grands! What will you fill them with?
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring!
Adorable. You'd never know any of it was from the dollar store. I'm sure your Nana would be thrilled to know you're using her pieces. Everything works perfectly together.
ReplyDeleteYour post is darling and so creative. Our dollar store probably does not have any of these items. I am going to look. You could be their ambassador and they need one as talented as you!
ReplyDeleteAs always your MKC pieces are delightful! Your treats are very inviting also. Hope your trip was good. Happy Easter.
This is an adorable dessert station with your dollar store finds and of course, you beautiful MKC pieces. I don’t think my dollar store would have any of these items. What fun for your grands to enjoy! Happy Spring!!
ReplyDeleteHi Patti...so happy to see your MKC pieces....I would be shocked if you set a table without one or two pieces as you have such a lovely collection. Mixing them with dollar tree finds is genius. Rich Man/Poor Man kind of thing and that makes for a perfect and very interesting mix. I am sure your little guests will enjoy each and every selection you have made. It is amazing what pretty scenarios one can dream up.... with just a little imagination. Great job as usual and Happy Spring and Easter.
ReplyDeleteI always admire your beautiful collection of MacKenzie-Childs Taylor Ceramics, so fun that you mixed them with Dollar Tree finds for a Spring/Easter dessert station. Those straws and party hats are the cutest! Happy to join you at the table again and hop with you. Happy Spring!

The pink depression glass is one of my favorites. I have always wanted to collect these gorgeous pieces. It is amazing how charming mixing Dollar Store items with playful McK-Child's serving pieces can display an over the top, festive dessert buffet. I can't wait to receive one of those bunny bags myself! Happy Easter!
