Today I am joining Rita @ Panoply and 18___others for a Valentine Tablescape Hop:
I set the table for John and I for a simple lunch of soup and sandwich:
I layered lace placemats over a white tablecloth and placed the crock on top of heart dishes I have had for over 20 years.
I know it's hard to believe but these placemats are plastic !
We are trying a new flavor - Rose Lemonade
I rolled the napkins into a heart shape (directions are below):
I elevated the MacKenzie-Childs sandwich plate with a small enamel cake pedestal:
The napkin fold is quite easy.
So what 's on the menu:
Mini grilled ham and cheese sandwiches....
Made with my favorite bread:
And this soup:

Patti, I'd love a bowl of that cabbage soup! It looks delicious and perfect for our cold, winter weather. Fun to see your MKC details! The sweets tray is perfect and also calling my name. Happy Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteSoups are so good especially now with these cold and snowy days. Your cabbage soup looks yummy. I love Cheesecake's brown bread very delicious. Have a great new week. Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeletePatti, I LOVE the heart-shaped grilled ham and cheese sandwiches and rose lemonade sounds wonderful! The lunch tray is a great idea and serving it in your love shirt is perfection! Stay warm!
ReplyDeletePatti, your beautiful Valentine's Table is just perfect for sharing a sweet meal. There is nothing better than Soup and a Sandwich to warm the heart. I love how you always share your recipes and secrets like that marvelous bread. Those placemats are amazing what a great find. And you know I love you heart napkin fold it's surprisingly easy to do! Thanks for all the inspiration. Kathy
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet! Soup and sandwich sounds like a perfect lunch.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, it is hard to believe those placemats are plastic. I think I would be inclined to touch them to make sure. How did you end up liking that Fentiman’s rose lemonade? I’ve seen that, but never took the plunge.

ReplyDeletePatti, while everyone is focused on the fabulous soup - I have my eye on your sweets cart!! So cute!! Yes, you had me fooled as well with your placemats! It is hard to believe that they are plastic!! I like your napkin fold as well. That soup would do me good though, we had 14 inches of snow in the last two days!! While it is beautiful - it comes with frigid temps. I hope you have a lovely Valentine's day!!🩷
Yummy! Lunch looks delicious! I love how you styled your cart, and now I want to try to fold napkins like yours. Thanks for the tutorial! Your plates are too, too cute, and I can't believe that the placemats are plastic. They don't look it! Cute post, Patti!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful table for Valentines for you and John. The lunch menu so perfect, especially these cold wintery days. The placemat does not look plastic. Darling plates too Patty. Love the napkin fold. I have seen it online. Stay warm and cozy.
ReplyDeletePatti, I enjoyed seeing all the sweet Valentine touches that make a lunch table for two special! The placemats certainly look like lace and I'm obsessed with the heart-shaped cocottes in such a cheery red. I really couldn't take my eyes off the sweets table! Enjoy your Valentine lunch!
ReplyDeleteSandra @ Dinner at Eight
Patti what a great and romantic lunch. Love the heart shaped ham & cheese sandwiches and the cabbage soup. I like the red elements of your table. Happy Valentines Day, stay warm and keep the lights on❤️🥰❤️
ReplyDeletePatti, how sweet to cut the sandwiches into a heart shape. It's a thoughtful addition to your luncheon menu. Loved your heart plates. They really add to the charm of your tablescape. I'm definitely going to try your napkin fold. I love adding those little touches to the table. Have a wonderful Valentine's Day!
ReplyDeleteLynne, Thrifting Wonderland
I love your lunch spread on your tray and cart Patti! The soup, cute heart shaped sandwiches and wonderful hearts and dessert offerings make for a delicious Valentine’s Day! As always, it’s a treat to join you at the table and hop with you again. Stay warm & cozy! 🩷
ReplyDeletePatti, what a lovely lunch on a tray! The sandwich cut into a heart is a fun nod to Valentine’s Day. I would love a bowl of your soup on this cold wintry day. I always enjoy seeing your collection of MKC! The sweets cart definitely has my attention. It is always a pleasure to hop with you. Happy Valentine’s Day!
ReplyDeleteGood, hmm, I think this is the most delicious lunch I ever seen. by the way, love with a pet is more efficient, I love my cat, she is beautiful and my sweetheart. I take care of her like a child and buy her needs from the Top Pet Palace.
ReplyDeleteMaking this type of dessert is Awesome; cooking is an art. But sometimes I am too tired to cook, so I use massagers to relieve pain. I got a massager from Relax Ease Legs. It's powerful and makes me feel good.
ReplyDeletePatti, what a charming setting for Valentine's Day. I can appreciate a hot cup of soup and a heart shaped brown bread sandwich on a very cold day here in Wisconsin and there is added warmth since it is served on such beautiful placesetting pieces. I love the heart shaped soup tureens on the floral heart shape salad plate. The rose lemonade wine sounds very interesting too. It would add a bit of summer flavor to the lovely stemware. And the dessert tray is a wonderful idea. Filled with wonderful treats. Yum. It is a pleasure to hop with you. Happy Valentine's Day.
ReplyDeleteHa – the LOVE sweatshirt sets the tone right off! And what a great tray! I got stuck on that first picture for quite a while, examining all your different pieces and elements of your table! Then I couldn’t wait to see how you put them all together. And I was rewarded – your place setting is darling! Wow – I would never have guessed that your lace placemats are plastic. They’re really beautiful, as well as your little heart dishes and the bright red heart crocks. It’s a lovely Valentines setting, Patti. Thanks for sharing! I always love hopping with you!
ReplyDeletePatii, you always have such creative ideas for any and all occasions. Your Valentine lunch is filled with many of those ideas. From the vintage plates to the napkin fold to the bread cut for the sandwich (I love that brand too!) to the sweets cart (my guy would be circling that like a vulture), it's all very fun and inviting while being home in winter. Who needs to go out (unless the workers are painting, lol?) when there's so many good things at home? And you always have the best drinks too! I hope the workers don't rob you blind while you step away! Thanks so much for sharing this, especially that napkin fold, I haven't seen that before. And thank you for joining the hop!
ReplyDeleteOh I need to make the cabbage soup for lunch, with all this cold weather it's perfect. Pretty Valen'tine's Day setting for you and John to enjoy. Lovely tray of pretties for you table and thanks for the napkin fold instructions. Happy Valentine's Day....
ReplyDeletePatti, you have set a delightful lunch table for two! The heart plates are darling and I can't believe that those lace placemats are plastic. Sure had me fooled. It's always so fun to see your MKC pieces; the tray is so pretty and the cart is amazing. The menu looks and sounds delicious from the heart-shaped ham and grilled cheese sandwich to the cabbage soup to the fabulous cart of sweets. The rose lemonade sounds intriguing but I've never had a lemonade I didn't like. I hope all the bad weather has passed and wishing you a wonderful Valentine's Day!!
ReplyDeletePatti, this is such a sweet and charming Valentine lunch — I love how you created a cozy, intimate moment with the tray and all the thoughtful little details. The heart-shaped sandwiches and napkin fold are absolutely adorable, and your mix of MacKenzie-Childs pieces with the lace placemats feels both pretty and relaxed. It truly looks like the perfect winter lunch to share together. So happy to be hopping along with you!
