Holly and Jolly...

Welcome and Happy Holidays!

I am joining Panoply for a Holiday Tablesetting Blog Hop along with 14 other bloggers.  The list is at the bottom of this post!

My dining table is set for two with a HOLLY theme....

...the wine glasses are trimmed with a holly ring....

...and the off-centered centerpiece has a holly sprig tucked into greenery:

The candle is off center so that dishes can be passed back and forth easily!

The chairs have a stretchy slip covers on them:

Star plates are perfect for side dishes:

The stack of dishes are a mix of inexpensive and expensive pieces....

...and a variety of designs.

The bread and butter plate is plastic.....

...the salad plate is a ceramic MacKenzie-Childs dish....

...and the dinner plate is porcelain:

This MacKenzie-Childs napkin, with the gingham trim, lends itself perfectly for a simple tree fold :

The place mats are inexpensive ones from Marshall's:

A simple bow acts as a "tree topper"

WHO is that peeking from under the table?

Why, it's Santa:

He is perfect for holding appetizers or desserts, OR....

....for cups for after dinner coffee!

I wish all of you a happy holiday season with lots of joy and peace!

  2. Your holly jolly table for two makes me smile. I always kept a table for two set, as Monnie and I looked forward to sitting down together to enjoy a meal. Setting a pretty table makes it even more special. Love the Christmas tree napkin fold. Happy Holidays!

  3. Love your Holly Jolly theme! The MacKenzie-Childs napkins folded to look like trees are darling. I also love your plate stacks, and I really need to add a few unique Courtly Check pieces (like the star plates) to my collection. I love how they look on your table!

  4. Patti, I adore your tablescape with the combination of various patterns. The black and white checkered pattern famous for McK-Childs is exquisite. Mixing it with the holly really makes it all pop and is such a classic. The addition of the tree napkin fold is a wonderful touch too. Of course, what also captured my attention was the serving Santa. It is perfect serving up some coffee cups, but in my mind, I was also picturing a big and colorful chocolate cake. (You know where my mind is at----dessert.) Patti, your collection is gorgeous and is used in such a stunning Christmas table. Enjoy! Merry Christmas.

  12. A very MacKenzie Christmas, Patti! I love how that napkin's edge acts as garland on the tree layered fold. The Santa butler is fantastic, and that Evergreen pattern is a favorite of mine (even though I have nothing in that line!). The holly plates are the perfect complement to the stack, and that CC fluted edge plate is the best. I like the stretchy chair covers too. The fit is super. You're quite the M-C ambassador. Someday I'd love to see how you store it all. Thanks so much for participating in this Christmas hop, and I hope & John and you rfamily have a very Merry Christmas season.

  13. Patti, this is so charmingly festive! I love the combination of materials, patterns and textures that create a wonderful party for two. I especially love the napkins done as Christmas trees -- I think these are just about the most perfect napkins I've seen used this way, with the gingham appearing as a striking garland. And Santa makes me smile. I'm sure you'll enjoy this throughout the holiday season. Have a very merry Christmas!
