A Christmas Tea

Have you read this book?

My Mom gave it to me years ago and every Christmas season I make a cup of tea and read it.  Each year it gives me a different feeling, especially the last few years before my Mom passed away.  It has always brought tears to my eyes, makes me feel nostalgic, and offers the true sentiment of the holidays.

I set the tray for "tea for two".  I am serving caramel/peppermint tea!

The cups and saucers are in the discontinued Evergreen pattern by MacKenzie-Childs.

The flavors of this tea, along with a little peppermint spoon is so flavorful and perfect for a cold day.

The little tea pot is perfect for two.
MacKenzie-Childs also makes a teapot for one (see the bottom of this post)

There's no need to add sugar as the peppermint spoon sweetens it up, so I filled the sugar bowl with greenery and a candy cane spoon!

I made a few cookies too enjoy with our tea:

What better way to entertain a friend at 10 am?

I am so happy my Mom inscribed the book - she had lovely handwriting!

  1. That's such a special gift you are enjoying year after year! This year I am gifting a book to my oldest that his dad received from his godparents when he was a child - Starlight and Candleglow. I was able to find another one on-line for myself to read and enjoy. And this is Christmas three of me reading The Expected One with my daily cup of coffee or hot chocolate. Tea at your house looks very festive!
