It seems that everyone loves Shutterfly and making their own photo cards. It is such a delight to get these through the mail and hang them on the refrigerator.
BUT - what can be done with them after the holidays?
Each year I gather them and punch holes in the corner of each card:
I choose one Christmas Card so that I can make a cover to date my photo cards:
I tie them together with a ribbon:
And I have a cute little booklet of photo cards from this year:
It's fun to look at year's past photo cards and see how the children have changed in one year!!

Love this idea!
ReplyDeleteI just made one.
DeletePatti,
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great idea! I was just looking at some of the cards we received and needed to take them down but certainly didn't want to pitch them. The cards themselves are so pretty and I love seeing the pics of growing children. Guess I've got my first craft project for 2016.;-)
That's a sweet idea. We get so few cards - the photo ones go on my bulletin board for the year, and the others I make into gift tags for next year. I saw on Pinterest an idea to use one of those steel office supply rings to do the same thing - you can look through them easily as the holes slide along the ring. I might have to do that for all of the cards Hubby has received that he cannot bear to part with!
ReplyDeletePatti, this is a terrific idea! I wish I had thought of it. I've saved Christmas photo cards for years, and I mean a lot of years. Last spring when I was purging for the expected move, I made the decision to let go of them. For years I had intended to make a photo album, but never did because of the time involved. This would have been so easy, and what fun to have a big bowl of these to look back on. Once again, I missed the train! '-(
ReplyDeleteGuess I'll start this year! Thanks for the idea! Happy New Year!
That's a great idea, Patti. I never know what to do with them and I never feel right throwing away other people's kids! ;) Now I know what to do with that pile!
ReplyDeleteI love this idea. I just keep putting mine in a card box...but oh I like this better. Blessings to you and yours for a happy new year. xoxo,Susie
