The Tales of the Traveling Tote #47

The Tales of the Traveling Tote is a series of adventures that share where our Mackenzie Childs tote bags have taken us.  Four times a year a group of bloggers each write a connected post about the places we have been. We have built incredible friendships through our blogs and we hope you enjoy our tales as much as we do!

To read about how it all began, go HERE

February was a snowy month and nothing too exciting happened, but here are a few places I traveled to during the last 3 months:

March trip to Mackenzie-Childs in Aurora, NY:

Deb and I in the Breakfast Room of the Farmhouse:

Deb, Amy and I - A cute idea from our photographer Joe!

********

John and I spent an afternoon walking along the "ice shoves" or "ice tsunamis" on the East end of Oneida Lake at the end of March:

We enjoyed lunch at the Lake House overlooking the beach.

April and early May:

I spent 5 weeks in Palm Beach Gardens with my aunt as she recovered from hip surgery.   Many afternoons were spent by the pool as well as a few trips to the beach!

Singer Island

Jupiter Beach Lighthouse

This was my new best friend:

While in Florida, My daughter and her family came down for a week and I was able to spend some time with them:

Loggerhead Marine Center

I also caught up with some old friends:

I left Palm Beach on a hot, sunny day....

.....and when I landed in Syracuse at midnight I spotted a Traveling Tote at the airport, it was AMY!  We were both exhausted and weary and it took a few seconds for us to recognize each other.  She was returning from a business trip in Dallas!

A few days ago we took a drive out to "apple country" to see the apple blossoms.  It was a cloudy day, but there were miles and miles of trees in full bloom and the orchards were so lovely!

If you haven't seen this, go!  The 4 main characters have not aged in 20 years and the fashions are fun to see!

  1. Patti you always have the most fun! Your five weeks in Florida look amazing although I am sure you were also working hard taking care of your aunt! The apple blossoms are so gorgeous. Ours all froze this year including many other trees. The ice tsunamis must be spectacular to see in real life. So glad you and Deb got to have fun together and Devil Wears Prada is definitely on my list to see. You are always the most fun and well traveled!!

  2. Patti, your travels look so fun. Again, I was so disappointed not being able to spend time with you and Debbie. The Mackenzie Childs Farmhouse is so special. So glad you got to visit Florida and spend time with your aunt recovering from surgery. How awesome your family could join you. The ice shrouds look spectacular. The Devil wears Prada is also on my list. Happy summer.

  3. Patti, I always enjoy seeing your travel adventures. Great pics of you and Deb at the MacKenzie Childs farmhouse in Aurora. It's too bad Linda's plans didn't work out so she and Paul could join y'all. Hopefully she will in the near future. It's probably good I am not close to Aurora because I could shop till I drop there!. Jupiter Beach looks like a great vacation spot and place to spend time with your aunt recovering from hip surgery. It was nice your family joined you. It's always fun to run into other MC enthusiast! The apple orchards in full bloom must be a lovely sight. Hope you have a wonderful summer Patti.

  4. You and Deb look like y'all are having a blast in the photos. I want to come up and visit y'all at some point or meet-up wherever! I am happy your family was able to meet-up in Florida. It's always good to getaway during the cold season and visit the South. I love seeing the apple blossoms! Thye are so pretty. One of my friends painted a painting of the apple blossoms from her family's farm in New Jersey, and it's pretty like your photo! Thanks for being our fearless leader!

  5. Patti, you've had a full 3 months! How thoughtful to help your aunt for 5 weeks. I hope she is fully recovered. Did John go along? It's fascinating to see the ice along the lakes. Difficult for this Texas girl to relate, though our January storm brought significant ice that didn't melt for almost a week. I was home bound because I couldn't get out of the drive.
How fun to meet up with a girl with a tote in the airport. I'm just off a couple of fun days with Alma, who lives on Long Island. Did you ever follow her blog?
Thanks for starting this fun tradition. I still enjoy taking Miz Merri Mac on adventures.
    Happy Month of May!
