We just spent a few days in Charlotte, NC with relatives and had lunch at the Charlotte Speedway and a tour of the city:
Then we drove to Myrtle Beach - our room was on the 17th floor!!
It felt so good to walk in the sand!
We took lots of "selfies"....
Afternoons were spent at Boardwalk on the Beach, Barefoot Landing, the Boardwalk and Pawley's Island! We also spent some time with old neighbors and enjoyed walking down "memory lane"!
Then we drove to Charleston and got a private tour of the city....
The city is a "walk through history", gas lanterns, Chevaux de frise, the City Market, and lovely mansions:
This was a great way to get out of our snowy town and enjoy some time in the south! And we brought back the sun and warmth - it was in the 70's today!
Now I am ready for spring!!
Patti, we are thankful that you brought back warm temps and sunshine! What a nice getaway for you and John.
ReplyDeletePatti, this sounds wonderful! It's always great to feel sand between the toes. Beaches, boardwalks and walks, sounds like the perfect winter vacation!
ReplyDeleteMy second sister lives in Charlotte and we have been to Charleston so I know how cool it is to be there. Glad you got away from the snow and cold.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect winter get away for New Yorkers. '-) I've only been to Charleston a couple of times, and would love to return. It's a wonderful destination. Glad you had a fun time.
