Do It Over Designers - The Recycle Bin

Our task this month, for the Do It Over Designers,  was to grab something out of our recycle bin and recreate it!

After Christmas I cleaned out my glass cupboard and got rid of any "singles" I had.  This didn't stay in the recycle bin for long:

So I decided to paint this "one of a kind" stemless wine glass with enamel paints as a "Galentine" gift for a friend!

I pulled out my stash of enamel/glass paints and brushes:

....and began "doodling":

I baked the glass according to the directions on the jar of paint....

....and it was ready to be filled with a few surprises!

I wrapped the mini bottle of wine in the cute sox and then wrapped both in tissue paper, tying it with a simple bow!

A simple little wine glass that would have ended up in the landfill, got a quick makeover and made a gift for a friend!

Thanks to Ann for hosting our blog hop....

....let's see what these ladies have rescued from their recycle bin:

  1. Wow Patti, you are so talented, I wish I could "doodle" as you call it, and it would turn out to be a masterpiece as you have created. Painting is a talent I wish I had. This is an adorable Galentine gift! You have the old wheels a spinning this morning, I want to bake paint on glassware. I have been cleaning out our cupboards, and we have a lot of one off glassware, so I am wondering what I can come up with... without the skill of painting. Thank you for sharing this idea! I love it.

  3. That's a really cute idea-really sweet and special. I was looking at my glass paints the other day and thought I should use them again! It's been a long time since I painted anything decorative. Have a wonderful weekend. xo Diana
