The Everson Museum and the Drag Docents

The Everson Museum & Breadcrumbs Productions joined forces Thursday night and presented guided tours of Tim Atseff: Final Edition and Sascha Brastoff: California King at the Museum.  Two drag docents celebrated the exciting intersections of contemporary art and the world of drag, leading a unique and educational experience, along with Garth Johnson, Curator of Ceramics.

This is a fascinating room, highlighting the work of Tim Atseff, filled with memorable newspaper headlines and artistically showing the decline of the newspaper in our society:

The Federal Art Project of the late 1930's:

The impressive 18' high winding staircase in the main lobby of the museum was designed by I.M.Pei:

This artist, Sasha Brastoff, had a fascinating life and the astounding variety of art mediums he created are displayed in one room:

The Everson Museum is home to over 10,000 works of art and also houses the Louise Cafe (you can read about it here).

In December they will hold the Festival of Trees and Light, of which I will be a donor again this year.

Support the arts and visit this museum in Syracuse, NY!

  1. Yuck, soiling the museum with deviants...only in America. Hope you disinfected your hands after you got home.
