It's almost over....

One thing I will really miss about summer is sitting on my front porch...

...reading a good book, magazine or flipping through a catalog...

...or enjoying a mid morning snack...

 ...the mornings have been cool...

...and I can feel autumn in the air...

...and even thought I love autumn, I dread the cold weather!

Have you started decorating for fall yet?  I am getting the itch - but refuse to give up on summer!

  1. No fall decorating yet I have to cut back and clean up then I will think about it. I guess I enjoy each season and what it brings. I do think Winter tends to linger a little long and spring can stretch out a bit but I do love each season

  2. Hey, Patti! I'm with you...winter is NOT a fave!!! It gets SO bitter cold here, and in my old age that just wreaks havoc with my body. We've been enjoying cooler days and nights, and we're expected to actually dip down into the 40s tonight! I'm good with 70s during the day, 50s at night. That's why Fall rules! Your porch looks comfy and inviting, so I can understand why you like spending time out there. I have started fall decorating, but only because my physical health prevents me from moving very well or very fast anymore, so I HAVE to get started now if I want to have anything done by month's end! All inside, though. I'll wait for outside until at least the 21st. Enjoy these waning days of summer!

  3. Your front porch is so pretty. I love summer, but I also love autumn because it's cooler and more bearable here in Central Alabama! I must admit I would live in the finger lakes region if it were in the South! ;P I don't bring out many pumpkins or fall decor until October, but I did decorate our breakfast room table with pinecones and acorns yesterday.

I hope you enjoy your front porch for as long as you can! Of course I love your flower market mug! :D

  4. I sure hope there are many more days for you to enjoy your front porch, and perhaps we will have an Indian Summer. Just put your fleece on!

  5. Mr. P. asked me if I wanted to bring my chaise lounges in from the yard the other day. I think the look on my face was answer enough. Enjoy what's left of the warm days - even if it's later in the afternoon only! A nice throw will help too. ;)

  6. Hi Patti... I love sitting on the patio and reading a good book. I already did my Fall decorating - although I'm going shopping today so I may not be finished. Have a great week.

  7. Such a lovely porch for you to enjoy, hopefully you will have more before the cold weather. We only enjoy early mornings outside here in summer but there isn't many days for the remainder of the year we can't get out and enjoy our veranda. I do love your morning snack, pretty and delicious I'm sure........

  8. I am going to hold on to summer a little longer even though it feels like Fall is here. I am looking forward to the sweaters and boots, but not putting away my porch furniture and cleaning the yard!!

  9. I haven't pulled out any fall decor yet, but with our cooler temps I'm tempted to this weekend. Love seeing your comfy porch. It is so inviting! I'd love to spend time there with a good book, magazine, or the latest MacKenzie-Childs catalog. '-)
