Another holiday garden center....

This is the 2nd garden center I visited in a few days, however this one is in North Syracuse, NY.

Hafner's Garden Center is loaded with fresh, artificial and decorated trees...

....floral picks and trims are sold in a vegetable display...

...rows of fresh pointsettias fill one room....

...snowman are everywhere...

...reminding us of what is on the way...

...an upside down tree is loaded with decorative balls...

...checks, plaids, burlap and twine gave this tree a warm country feel...

...and delicate pinks, greens and pearls gave off a feeling of romance...

...snowman made from gourds were silly....

...one area honored our local university sports team...

...and the American tree honored our service men and country...

...there is also a boutique area that has clothing, accessories and this adorable "jewelry tree"...

...there were lots of syrups, salad dressing, honey, chocolate pizzas, jellies, etc...

...this is a "must see" every holiday season...a delightful place to find inspiration and unique gifts...

...and it's where I buy my yearly poinsettias plant!

A Proper Garden....

We just spent the Thanksgiving holiday in Delaware, Ohio.

While there, I discovered "A Proper Garden"....

...a delightful garden center off the beaten path...

...that carries Mackenzie-Childs...

...tucked into lovely display cabinets...

...surrounded by perfectly decorated trees...

...and holiday table settings...

...filled with snowmen...

...and Vietri dishware...

and shiny gold bowls...

...and mantels in elegant woodsy themes...

...and trees with beautiful plaid ribbons and berries...

...and birch branches with icy lights...

...and the sweetest little cafe...

...with a hand written, tempting, mouth watering, seasonal menu:

It is always delightful to find a hidden treasure like A Proper Garden, and I look forward to going back in the spring!

Black and White Tree.....

I am not usually clumsy, BUT while decorating my new white Christmas tree, with many of my hand painted ornaments, THIS happened.
TWICE

I was getting quite aggravated with myself!

But, once it was decorated....

I was very pleased with the outcome!

Most of the ornaments are glass that I hand painted, a few are wood and some are plastic and a few were purchased or gifted to me!  I just love this tree!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here.....

Crazy weather in Syracuse, NY.....

Saturday it was 70' in Syracuse - the sun was shining, the breeze was warm and....

...I meant to pick the last of my roses!

In less than 48 hours later, here are my rose bushes:

It started snowing Sunday afternoon....

and as of Monday noon, it hasn't stopped!

The weather man said we have had 12 inches, with about 8 more inches expected!

UGHHHH, I am housebound!!

UPDATE:  We had 2 feet of snow!

National Bundt Cake Day!

Debbie, from Mountain Breaths, is my bundt cake mentor!

She is the bundt cake queen!

I have had a few bundt cake fiascos, but she keeps encouraging me to try it again.  I have had them stick in the pan, where they come out topless, I have tried a few recipes that don't have much flavor, but I finally succeeded with a pear cake!

I have two different Nordicware bundt pans - this is my favorite, it make 4 minis:

A little dusting of powdered sugar is all it needs!

And Debbie always reminds me when its National Bundt Cake Day, too!

I think I am getting the "hang of it"!
