Unofficial end of summer....

As a teacher, school in the northeast has traditionally started the day after Labor Day.

Today has always been the unofficial end of the summer ....

...that is UNTIL I retired from teaching 4 years ago....

....and then I realized that there is still another month to go!

  1. Yes, aren't we the lucky ones? School here in TX started a few weeks ago, and even after being retired for 17 years I still have a little surge of happiness this time of year. '-)

  3. I like your attitude! I have a friend who retired recently from teaching also, and she posted on FB, "What do you call a person who is happy on Monday? Retired!" :)

  5. Amen Sistah!!! I find myself NOT knowing when school starts and ends or when holidays are. That's crazy! When I was teaching, I could tell you down to the second when the buses started rolling!!
