Keeping busy.....

I made a small pot of sauce from fresh tomatoes, peppers, onion and garlic....

which gave me 3 jars for the winter:

I also made a few jars of bread and butter pickles...

...and I am still painting pumpkins!

and a bit of unrelated info:
The Garden Lover's Club highlighted my garden totem on their blog!

A few ways to update an artificial pumpkin….

I bought a creamy-yellow pumpkin and dry-brushed white acrylic paint on it. Then I dry-brushed some wax ~ dark and clear mixture ~ and buffed it:

I "yanked" off the cheap green plastic stem and replaced it with a green glass knob:

This one was painted in tan and cream stripes, with a wooden knob attached...

…and this grey and white striped pumpkin got a vintage glass knob:

Just another way to make a cheap pumpkin look a little fancier!

Here is a resin pumpkin from the Dollar Tree….

…with a few ribbon loops and fringe attached, and a bow on top!

This pumpkin was painted in "Pandora" checks:

The past few days….

I tried a restaurant that I have been dying to go to - Laci's Tapas Bar.  Sadly, I won't be going back!

I attended a Fashion Show, with fabulous outfits and accessories….I can't wait til Spring Fashion Week - I'll go back:

I went to the grand opening of House of S. Jaye in Syracuse, I'll be back:

I had dinner at Pastabilities - I will definitely go back there!

AND...
I painted a gazillion pumpkins - and they all SOLD…there will be more!

It was a busy 4 days!

Fashion Week in Syracuse

Last week, during Fashion Week, there was a Fashion Show in Syracuse, featuring local businesses….

It was held outdoors, under a tent, on a street in Armory Square

A few of my favorite businesses dressed their models in fabulous outfits and jewelry.
Giorgio Furs was one of the highlights...

…Beautiful models in lovely furs...

...with outrageously sexy outfits underneath...

…with talented poses...

…and unique hairstyles...

…and make up, far from ordinary!

There were a few children….

…who were absolutely adorable:

Lululemon models not only showcased their clothing, but also performed a few yoga moves on the runway!

Michelle Darin, a local jeweler….

…dressed all of her models in...

…recycled clothing...

…all made from...

…old afghans!

I was so intrigued by this recycling project that I forgot to check out some of the jewelry!!

I thought this was such a clever and cohesive way to

…bridge all of her models together!

Even the local guitar store jumped on the runway!

What a fun event on a beautiful night!

The Deacon's Bench...

My friend found this pink bench on the side of the road….

…and it sat in my cellar for months.  I just primed it...

…and painted it grey.  I added a graphic from Graphics Fairy

…and here is the finished bench:
