Burlap Table Top

I bought this end table at an estate sale but the top was really in bad shape.  I purchased some printed burlap at HL and adhered it to the top for a quick fix:

I gave it a few coats of Mod Podge to make it waterproof and make it stiff:

The handles on the drawer were given an update with a few coats of champagne colored car spray paint:

Another table given a new life!

Paper Bag Table

I bought this cute little end table at the local thrift shop and wanted to try something new:

I painted the table black and then adhered torn pieces of a paper bag to the top:

I trimmed the edges with gold:

This treatment gave the table an "old world" touch and it is certainly a conversation piece!

Sitting on Top of the World...

I love these old school chairs.  They are so sturdy and comfortable, but this one wanted to be updated!

I picked up a map of NY State and adhered it to the chair!

It's a perfect chair for a teen's desk, don't you think?

Syracuse Table Top

This was a quick fix to a leather table top that was in poor shape:

I adhered a local map of Syracuse to the top!  Easy Peasy!

My Take on a MacKenzie-Childs Table Runner

and added a bit of color to the checks (you know why!):

I chose to add a bit of padding and white backing - the trick here, to make it lay well, is to pin the padding under the wrong side of the checks and lay the backing fabric face down to the checks.

I angled each end to make rounded point and added a small tassel:

After turning it right-side out, I topstitched around the outside edges:

And here is the finished table runner:

I have set my table for dinner, my brother- and sister-in-law are stopping by for dinner tonight.

I made gazpacho as an appetizer and we will have roast pork, stuffing and vegetables.  While in Florida the last few weeks, I found these red enamel soup/salad bowls - they are perfect with my CC dishes!

I was feeling energetic, so I also made a rectangle shaped runner with striped ends:

I can't decide which runner I like best!

Back to reality...

I am home from my Florida/Bahamas vacation...

I ate too much…but how can you refuse meals that look this tasty?

and I probably drank too much…but the sun and salt made me feel parched :-)

The sun and sea made me forget about all the snow in central NY...

…and the warm nights made me yearn for summer!

I am in a blogging funk…and as soon as my creative mind adjusts to the cold weather I will be back!
