Christmas Inspiration

A pretty pink and blue romantic tree....

...a gold and white tree with lots of sparkles and glitz....

...a cool, icy silver and white tree....

...a sports tree....

.... a tree for the wine lovers with cute "grape lights"...

...and a nature themed tree...

...and a pretty area that made one feel like they were in the snowy woods...

Now, to finish my decorating - it is slow-going for me this year!

We had a fun weekend with Carter.  After reading the Polar Express on Saturday, we took him on the Polar Express Train to the North Pole"

All of the children wore their pajamas, sang Christmas carols on the train and wrote out their wish lists for Santa.
It was fun to see it all through his eyes, especially when he saw Santa and his elves:

And when Santa got on the train and gave Carter the "BELL" he was so excited!

I can't wait to share his excitement on Christmas morning!

Bunco Night....

BJ, over at Sweet Nothings, hosted Bunco at her home this week.  Her friends play during the day.  I also hosted our monthly Bunco game, however we play at 7 pm.  For those of you who don't know the game, we roll dice and it takes no talent or strategy at all - and we use it as an excuse to eat and drink and gossip about the neighbors who don't play bunco!!

I made some score cards and table cards with dice:

I used the same graphic to make toothpicks to hold Herb and Ham Roll-Ups:

I also made caramel dipped grapes:

The mini Swedish Meatballs were delish:

The pepper-onion dip was very spicy!

And the hot baked caramelized onion dip was a hit:

And for the sweet tooth: chocolate covered popcorn...

and lemon cake pops:

I also served wine punch and a variety of wines.

And did we play?  Yes, for about 1/2 hour, then we just drank and ate ourselves silly!

And the girl with the most Buncos won this prize, a silver creamer painted in checks with a holiday arrangement:

Assorted MacKenzie-Childs Dishes

I used my "new" M-C dinner dishes the other day.  They just make me smile looking at them.  Each dish is different and I love how they all coordinate with each other in such a whimsical way!

Dinner was a pot roast (menu below) but I was just too hungry to take photos when I served dinner!

I admire the bloggers that can take photos of their dinner before they sit down....

and also those who light their candles and take photos in the different light of day!

I was lucky enough to be able to get this far!

Au Chocolat

... chocolate covered popcorn...
... an assortment of mouth watering candies...
... rice crispies with a drizzle of chocolate and wine and punch:
Chocolate treats were all around the gift shop:
The second shop was a clothing boutique, celebrating their first birthday:
The third shop was a second hand clothing store and they served champagne and these pretty treats:
The fourth shop was a children's clothing store with lovely hand knitted accessories and served a wide assortment of chocolate sweets.
They also served chocolate cherry wine...
 and chocolate expresso wine!
The fifth stop was a shop that specialized in cat memorabilia.  The lemon slushies were so good and complimented their fudge candies:
The sixth shop served brownie bites and had unique jewelry and accessories:
My favorite shop had the prettiest display of cake balls and pretzels (served on my favorite MacKenzie-Childs Courtly Checks!)
The eighth gift shop served a variety of wines with caramel and chocolate popcorn and candies:
and in this shop, these checks caught my eye:

This was such a fun way to visit many of the local shops in Baldwinsville and I bought a few Christmas presents and even treated myself to a few Christmas ornaments!

This was the second annual Au Chocolat and I look forward to attending this event every year!
