Garden Chair

I recently bought this chair for $2.00 at a garage sale:
While I was on Cape Cod over the weekend, I found these at an antique store in Falmouth:
The boxes on the chairs above and below are attached and plants are just sitting inside:

But this one has a bowl shaped of chicken wire attached to the seat with the plant planted inside:
So, now I am trying to figure out how to decorate my $2.00 chair! Stay Tuned...

  3. I love that idea. Can't wait you see yours. I did not years ago. I used that burlap stuff. Can't think of what it is called now.

  4. Great find! I saw one over the weekend - exact same shape/condition and I was scratching my head on what I would do with it. I passed on it and of course now you're making me kick myself in the behind! ;)

  8. I made one that still sits on my front porch after 6 years! I just used some old window screen and stapled it to the seat- like a bowl. Then I lined it with cocoa mat. I put a clear plastic plant saucer in the bottom to help hold the water. Then added soil and plants. Each year I change or add something a little different- bird's nest, vintage garden tools, a garden sign, old hanging basket with gloves, holiday ribbons- ! Can't wait to see yours!
