Cigar Boxes

I'll begin by saying that "No, I do not smoke cigars!", but I do love the wooden boxes that house them:
I have some that are over 40 years old and some that are brand new. I recently took one and painted it Heirloom White. I adhered some old sheet music to the top and sides:
I sanded the edges to "shabby it up" a bit:
I added some embellishments (burlap scrap, key, handmade booklet of paper, etc) and stamped some script and inspirational words on it:
And I am sending this to one of my readers - might it be you?

  3. Hi Patti,
I just bought three old cigar boxes today. They had wonderful paper graphics on them and I just had to have them :)
Love what you did to your cigar box. It looks gorgeous! I agree with "A Few Pennies", it looks like a lovely antique.
